Your Website and What You Should Change
Okay, so you know how I told you that I would explain what you should probably change off of your website? Well I’m about to do that, so sit down, grab a notebook, and get ready to take notes because you might want to remember this. First thing’s first. Do you have one of those “funky” cursors that pops up when someone comes onto your website? Maybe it’s really pretty and has a rainbow of other cursors behind it when it moves. Maybe it’s a duck (or something else with similar letters depending on your business) that dances when it’s left in the same place for too long. I really don’t care what it is, you need to get rid of it. If you don’t have one of those, good. You’re on the right track. Second, do you have a bright, colorful, or busy background across the entire page? Sorry, but that really should go. Unless you have a very good reason, there shouldn’t be a lot of colors on your webpage that can burn someone’s retina if they look at it for too long. Time to Make a New Website
What do you think you’re doing? Stop reading this and go make a new website! Okay, maybe you should actually finish reading this and find out why you need a new website. Now don’t give me that look, you know you really do need one. And don’t “But mooooommmmmm” me, you are very well aware that won’t make one lick of difference. Probably because I’m not your mother. It's Time to Bootstrap Your Website
What’s the first thing you think of when you hear the term bootstrap? Likely, you think of either actual straps on boots or Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean series. Personally for me it’s the latter, but either way, it’s certainly not Twitter. Twitter to me is a social media website that prevents me from easily going on rants due to the 140 character limit. So just what are bootstraps on Twitter? Well that’s actually a really good question, I’m so glad you asked it! Twitter bootstrap is actually a program, and it allows you to use it in your next web design project. Is it Time for a New Website?
So you get bored one day and start poking around on your company’s webpage. You’re looking around and all of a sudden you wonder where that information about your company’s code of conduct is. You search and search and finally you find it. All of a sudden you look up and catch a glimpse of yourself in the mirror. You’re six years older, you have a beard, and you’re starting to go gray. What happened, you were only looking for something real quick! Well, the problem is that your website is such a mess it took you that long just to find one simple thing. This needs to be fixed.
